"There may be no greater tribute to Steve's success than the fact that much of the world learned of his passing on a device he invented."
- Barack Obama

one of the best tributes that i've came across today. and yes it's so true because i did too. through my iPhone4.

i'm not a person who's good with words but i shall tell my part of the story in my own way.

i used to dislike the iPhone when it started to get popular here in Singapore. i've always thought that it is so common because you can see it everywhere. i used to say "in a train cabin, you can see that almost everyone's holding an iPhone when you look up. you don't even have to try to search for it." yeah and i told myself to be different. so i got a droid.

in 3 months, i exchanged the droid for an iPhone4, even though there was a penalty fee. because everyone around me is slowly going Apple. and i got the chance to experience its wonders. i'm a frequent phone-changer because i get bored with my phone very quickly. the 3 month was my personal record and i know that i'll never get the chance to break it again.

till now, none of the new phones in the market has the ability to capture my attention. and never did the thought of switching to another phone appear in my mind. not even once. the iPhone itself is an ever-changing phone. you'll discover something wonderful about it everyday & you'll never get bored with it.

before my iPhone, i got a 15" MacBook Pro. it has been a good 3 & 1/2 years and it is still with me now, working just fine. i am now writing this tribute with it.

like my iPhone, i had never wanted it. it was never my choice. i got this MBP because of school. for my course, i had to use a MacBook.

at first, i didn't like it because there was one thing about Apple's laptops: i can't play my favorite game, MapleStory, with it. not with the help of BootCamp though. but as i stopped playing that game, i slowly fell in love with my MBP. there's only one word to describe it:

NEAT

i am very sure i will make full use of my MBP till the very day it stops working (which i doubt it's anytime soon). and i will continue to support the MacBooks. as for my iPhone? yes i will switch to another phone when the time comes. to the future generations of iPhones (:

i hope Apple can continue to strive and let the name 'Steve Jobs' shine even brighter than it already is.

Rest in Peace Steve Jobs.
